Philippine Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete recognized the legacy and accomplishments of the 525th Combat Engineer Battalion as the Army’s top Disaster Response Unit during its 40th founding anniversary at the Headquarters Philippine Army in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
The recognition came days after the 525CEBn received its Full National Accreditation Certificate as a Medium Urban Search and Rescue Team on June 26.
The battalion is the first unit in the country to attain accreditation under the National Accreditation Process.
Aside from its role in Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response, Nafarrete also recognized the unit’s contributions to engineering support, combat operations, and infrastructure development.
“Your continued support, cooperation, and shared commitment to nation-building have strengthened our capacity to accomplish our mission and respond effectively to the needs of the Filipino people,” Nafarrete said.
The Philippine Army said it continues to improve the quality of its training to meet international standards for safety and security.
It added that it remains committed to empowering personnel during crises and strengthening readiness to prevent catastrophic impairments in the face of natural disasters.
