The La Loma Lechon Festival is making its comeback in Quezon City on May 17, bringing together food, faith, culture, and community in a day-long celebration of one of the city’s most iconic culinary districts.

The Quezon City government said the 2026 edition of the festival will run from 7 am to 8 pm and will coincide with the feast of Nuestra Señora de Salvacion de La Loma. The celebration will also pay tribute to La Loma’s long-held reputation as the “Lechon Capital of the Philippines.”

This year’s festival carries the theme “Pamanang Lasa, Pamanang Pananampalataya,” highlighting four major pillars: Lasa, Pamana, Likha, and Kabuhayan. These will showcase La Loma’s food traditions, religious devotion, creative expression, and local livelihood.

Among the main attractions is the Lechon Reinvented Cook-Off, where top lechoneros from La Loma will present new and creative takes on the district’s signature dish. Celebrity chef Tatung Sarthou will also lead a special cooking demonstration.

Visitors can also expect the colorful Lechon Float Parade, a community boodle fight, traditional Filipino games, cultural performances, live entertainment, and a local bazaar featuring lechon makers and small businesses from Quezon City.

The religious side of the celebration will be marked by the Grand Procession of Nuestra Señora de Salvacion de La Loma, underscoring the festival’s connection to both local faith and heritage.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte is also expected to unveil the La Loma Gastronomic Map, a project designed to promote the district’s leading food destinations and strengthen its position as one of Quezon City’s major culinary hubs.

“The La Loma Lechon Festival is more than a food celebration. It reflects the heart of Quezon City — where culture, community, faith, and livelihood come together,” Belmonte said.

“When we celebrate La Loma, we also support our local businesses, tourism workers, artists, and lechoneros who keep this tradition alive for generations,” she added.

The festival will close with a fireworks display, capping a full day of activities aimed at drawing residents and visitors to La Loma’s famed lechon strip and cultural attractions.
