PNP Brings Free Circumcision, Community Outreach Services to Leyte Youth

The Philippine National Police (PNP), through the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 8 (RMFB 8), conducted a free circumcision and community outreach program for children in Capoocan, Leyte.

Dubbed “Circum-Mission: Oplan Tuli ng RMFB 8,” the activity was held at the battalion headquarters and benefited 59 children from different barangays who received safe and sanitary circumcision procedures from volunteer doctors and medical practitioners.

Police said the initiative aimed to help families who could not afford the cost of the operation while ensuring that children received proper medical care.

Aside from medical services, RMFB 8 also organized an educational symposium for parents and guardians waiting at the venue. Police personnel discussed key provisions of Republic Act 11313, or the “Bawal Bastos Law,” and Republic Act 9262, also known as the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act.

Information flyers and road safety reminders were likewise distributed to residents to raise public awareness on community safety and protection.

The outreach activity was carried out in partnership with the Tacloban City Health Office, doctors from the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians Residents’ Organization, the Battalion Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development, and RMFB 8 personnel.

PNP chief Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the police organization remains committed to programs that promote the welfare of communities, particularly the youth.

“The PNP remains committed to programs that genuinely uplift the lives of our people, especially the youth. Small acts of service can create lasting impact in the community,” Nartatez said.

He added that community outreach activities help strengthen the relationship between police and the public through service and compassion.

The PNP said the initiative also aligns with its Focused Agenda, particularly its Enhanced Managing Police Operations and Active Community Support programs aimed at improving community-based public service initiatives.
