A series of coordinated intelligence-driven operations conducted across several regions on May 2, 2026 led to the arrest of five wanted individuals and the recovery of a stolen vehicle, the Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) reported.
The simultaneous operations were carried out in Quezon City, Pampanga, Davao de Oro, and Cavite as part of the PNP-HPG’s nationwide manhunt and anti-criminality campaign targeting fugitives and vehicle-related crimes.
In Quezon City, operatives arrested two individuals in Bago Bantay at around 8:24 am through a joint operation involving the Provincial Highway Patrol Team–Nueva Ecija and regional intelligence units. The suspects were listed among the HPG nationwide and regional most wanted persons and were apprehended for alleged violation of the Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016, with bail set at P300,000.
In Pampanga, a separate operation in Mabalacat City led to the arrest of a female wanted person facing charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. She was taken into custody for service of sentence.
Meanwhile, in Davao de Oro, law enforcers arrested a man identified as a municipal top most wanted person in connection with three counts of rape. Authorities said no bail was recommended for the case.
In Cavite, operatives intercepted a suspect in General Trias City and recovered a stolen motor vehicle being sold online. The vehicle was confirmed to be linked to a carnapping case filed in Cagayan. The suspect now faces charges under the Anti-Fencing Law.
All arrested individuals are currently under the custody of their respective operating units pending turnover to courts.
PNP-HPG Acting Director Police Brig. Gen. Rommel Batangan commended the coordinated operations, stressing the importance of intelligence-based policing in tracking fugitives and recovering stolen assets.
“These coordinated operations highlight our continued commitment to track down wanted individuals and recover stolen motor vehicles,” Batangan said.
He added that the group will continue to intensify efforts against criminal elements through sustained operations and public cooperation.
The PNP-HPG also urged the public to report suspicious activities and assist authorities in locating wanted persons as part of its continuing campaign to improve road safety and law enforcement.
