Go Seeks Unity, Sustained Aid as Energy Costs Rise

Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go emphasized the need for unity as the country faces rising energy costs and broader inflationary pressures affecting basic services and household expenses.

Go, vice chair of the Senate Committee on Health, said these challenges place added strain on public service delivery and disproportionately affect vulnerable sectors reliant on government assistance.

“Ang dasal ko po sa panahon ngayon ang pagkakaisa ng lahat. Kapag magulo ang politika, ang nadadamay ang taong bayan,” he said, noting that political instability can hinder effective service delivery.

He stressed that government efforts should remain focused on public welfare, adding that coordinated action across sectors is essential to sustain support programs amid economic pressures.

Go also highlighted recent assistance initiatives by his office, including aid to families affected by fires in Cebu City, Jagna, Carmen, and Pavia.

His team likewise extended support to displaced workers in San Remigio and provided assistance to indigent residents in San Mateo. Students and scholars from Kawit and several towns in Pampanga also received aid during graduation-related activities.

Go reaffirmed his commitment to continue public service initiatives, citing his “Malasakit” brand of assistance, and said he remains guided by the principle that serving the people is a core duty of public office.
