A police rescue operation in Pasay City freed a 43-year-old Filipina and led to the arrest of four foreign nationals after authorities responded to a distress call from a residential unit along F.B. Harrison Street on Monday afternoon.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said officers arrived at around 12:15 p.m. in Barangay 13 following a request for assistance. Upon entry, they found the complainant inside the unit with the suspects and immediately secured her safety.

Authorities said the victim had allegedly been held in the residence for an extended period with restricted movement before she managed to seek help through a visiting driver, prompting the police response.

PNP Chief Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the operation reflects the agency’s commitment to swift action in cases involving threats to personal freedom and safety.

“Kapag may ganitong uri ng insidente, kumikilos agad tayo. We do not tolerate any act that threatens the freedom and dignity of any individual, and we will continue to act swiftly and decisively whenever needed,” Nartatez said.

He added that the operation aligns with the PNP’s focused operational agenda on rapid response and strengthened coordination, as well as the broader directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to ensure safer communities nationwide.

The suspects were taken into custody and informed of their rights with the assistance of a translator. Police said they chose to remain silent during initial questioning.

Preliminary investigation showed the complainant had been working for the group since 2023 before being brought to the Pasay residence, where she allegedly experienced restricted movement and other forms of mistreatment. Authorities said details are still being verified as the investigation continues.

The suspects will face inquest proceedings before the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office as the PNP continues to build its case.
