The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), through the Western Command, is coordinating an emergency medical evacuation for a navy member stationed aboard the BRP Sierra Madre (LS57) who needs urgent hospital treatment for a pre-existing medical condition.
Military medical staff administered initial care to the personnel, who remain under close observation while extraction plans are finalized.
The AFP is working alongside the Philippine Coast Guard and partner government agencies to carry out the safe transfer of the patient to a medical facility for specialized evaluation and care.
Defense officials emphasized that the health and safety of deployed service members remain a top priority, with all necessary measures being taken to guarantee immediate treatment.
