Josh Cullen is back in solo mode, and this time he has brought Jay Park along for the ride.
The SB19 member has teamed up with the Korean-American rapper and singer for “LIKE ME,” a new hip-hop track that adds another international collaboration to Cullen’s growing body of work outside the P-pop group.
Released on September 24, the 3-minute, 42-second single brings together three languages — English, Filipino and Korean — while giving both artists room to bring their respective styles to the record.
But the pairing is not the only thing that makes the release noteworthy.
Cullen had a hand in shaping the song behind the microphone as well. He is credited as a lyricist alongside Jay Park and Mathew Auditor and as one of its producers with Avery Leon and Joshua Caleb Vidamo of RADKIDZ.
That involvement is consistent with the increasingly distinct musical identity Cullen has been developing alongside his work with SB19.
His solo catalog began taking shape with “Wild Tonight” in 2023 before expanding with his debut album, Lost & Found, in 2024. The album showed several sides of Cullen away from the group’s releases, moving between harder-edged tracks and more personal material.
“LIKE ME” lands on the more assertive end of that spectrum.
The song plays with confidence and individuality while answering the scrutiny that often follows artists operating in the public eye. Jay Park enters that world without sounding like a detached guest, switching languages during his contribution and even working Filipino expressions into his verse.
The collaboration also comes with some history.
Before appearing on a Josh Cullen record, Park had already crossed paths with the wider SB19 universe online. He previously joined the “Dungka” dance trend and publicly showed support for SB19’s Simula at Wakas world tour.
This time, the connection has moved from social media to the recording studio.
A new world for ‘LIKE ME’
The song’s official music video takes a more futuristic route.
Cullen appears in a technology-driven environment populated by digital distortions, scanning systems and imagery associated with identifying or verifying a person. The visual treatment gives the release a distinctly science-fiction atmosphere without abandoning the performance element at its center.
Those ideas were already being teased before the song arrived.
Earlier promotional images gradually revealed Cullen through glitches and other digital effects, accompanied by phrases including “ONE OF ONE” and the question, “What makes you you?”
The completed rollout connects those visual cues with a song largely concerned with Cullen asserting what separates him from everyone else.
“LIKE ME” also received its own live showcase at Samsung Hall in SM Aura on September 26, where Cullen revisited material from across his solo catalog alongside the new release.
The timing places the track at another turning point in a solo career that now stretches beyond an occasional project between SB19 activities.
Cullen remains firmly part of SB19, but releases such as “LIKE ME” are giving listeners a clearer picture of the music he wants to make when the five members temporarily take separate paths.
With Jay Park joining him this time, that path is also becoming increasingly international.
