Ogie Alcasid and Yeng Constantino have shared a judging table on Tawag ng Tanghalan and, more recently, a concert stage. Their latest meeting gives listeners something they can take home: a duet about finding rest in another person.
Alcasid wrote “Ikaw Ang Aking Pahinga” around a familiar feeling: life can remain difficult even when someone’s presence makes it easier to face. The song’s promise is modest but affecting. It is about having a person to lean on when you are tired.
Their collaboration follows Alcasid’s guest appearance at Constantino’s anniversary concert in August. Bobby Velasco arranged the new recording, which Alcasid produced with Jonathan Manalo.
