Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced plans on Friday to introduce direct, nonstop services connecting Manila to Delhi and Mumbai starting December 2026, expanding its footprint across South Asia.
The proposed international expansion remains subject to regulatory approvals from the Indian government. Once cleared, the new routes will establish direct air links between the Philippines and two of India’s major economic, commercial and cultural centers.
“Opening services to Delhi and Mumbai strengthens PAL’s network in one of Asia’s most dynamic economies,” PAL President Richard Nuttall stated.
“These routes will create new opportunities for Filipinos to explore India while supporting the growing movement of travelers, businesses and goods between our two countries,” he added.
Under the airline’s planned schedule, the Manila-Delhi route will operate three times weekly every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Meanwhile, the Manila-Mumbai service will run four times a week on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Both routes will be serviced by PAL’s Airbus A321neo aircraft, which features a 168-seat layout configured with 12 lie-flat Business Class seats and 156 Economy Class seats. Passengers will receive full-service amenities, including onboard dining, inflight entertainment and cabin services.
The two Indian destinations offer distinct access points for Filipino business travelers, tourists and overseas workers. Delhi serves as the national capital region, seat of government and primary entry point to Northern India’s historic landmarks, while Mumbai functions as India’s financial and commercial capital, alongside being a premier hub for media, culture and entertainment.
Beyond passenger travel, PAL noted that the direct services will enhance belly-hold cargo capacity between the Philippines and India, allowing commercial freight shipments to link seamlessly into the airline’s wider international cargo network. Travelers will also be able to utilize India’s e-Visa program to facilitate travel arrangements.
At present, Philippine Airlines operates direct flights from its primary hubs in Manila and Cebu to 29 domestic destinations and 40 international destinations across North America, Asia, Australia and the Middle East.
