Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Antonio G. Nafarrete reaffirmed the military’s full commitment to ensuring peaceful and credible 2026 Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections during the Final Command Conference on August 26.
Speaking at Camp Salipada K. Pendatun, Nafarrete joined key security and government officials, including DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla, COMELEC Chairperson George Garcia, and PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., following a security briefing by the Western Mindanao Command.
Nafarrete emphasized that ensuring peaceful elections requires strong inter-agency coordination, discipline and unified effort.
“This election carries the hope of communities that have worked hard for peace and greater self-governance,” Nafarrete said, pledging the military’s complete backing to election authorities and partners to protect voters’ rights and maintain a secure voting environment.
