Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. commended the National Capital Region Command (NCRCOM) for its operational readiness and professionalism during his farewell visit to the command headquarters at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo on July 15.
Brawner, accompanied by NCRCOM Commander Maj. Gen. Gregorio B. Hernandez Jr. was briefed on the command’s operational accomplishments and witnessed a capability demonstration and static display that highlighted NCRCOM’s readiness and evolving capabilities to secure Metro Manila.
In his talk to troops, Brawner praised the command’s officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian workforce for their discipline, professionalism, and dedication in carrying out their mission as the “Sentinels of the Nation’s Capital.” He also urged personnel to remain steadfast in upholding the Constitution, maintaining loyalty to the chain of command, and serving the Filipino people with integrity, excellence and honor.
For his part, Hernandez thanked Brawner for his leadership, guidance, and continued support, saying these strengthened NCRCOM’s operational capabilities and mission readiness. He also noted that the visit formed part of the AFP chief’s farewell engagements ahead of his retirement and recognized Brawner’s milestone as the first AFP chief of staff to complete the three-year fixed term under Republic Act No. 11709, which he said helped strengthen leadership continuity and advance the military’s modernization and transformation efforts.
NCRCOM said it remains committed to professionalism, operational excellence and mission readiness as it continues to carry out its mandate of safeguarding the National Capital Region and serving the Filipino people.
