Police arrested a regional and provincial-level most wanted person during a manhunt operation in Barangay Alaguisoc, Jordan, Guimaras, on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

The Philippine National Police identified the suspect only as alias “Renan,” 39, a fish vendor and resident of Iloilo.

According to police, he was listed as the No. 6 provincial most wanted person of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office and the No. 8 regional most wanted person of Police Regional Office 6.

The operation was led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Guimaras Provincial Field Unit, with support from the Jordan Municipal Police Station.

Police said the suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 68 in Dumangas, Iloilo.

He is facing two counts for alleged violations of Article 266-A, Paragraph 2, in relation to Article 266-B of the Revised Penal Code, or rape by sexual assault, as amended by Republic Act No. 8353, in further relation to Republic Act No. 7610.

The court set bail at P200,000 for the two counts for his temporary liberty.

After his arrest, the suspect was brought to the CIDG Guimaras Provincial Field Unit for documentation and proper legal proceedings.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the arrest reflects the police organization’s continued campaign against wanted persons while ensuring that operations remain within the bounds of law and due process.

“Every arrest of a wanted individual is a reminder that the PNP remains committed to protecting communities and supporting the pursuit of justice. We will continue to strengthen our operations and coordination among police units to make sure that our services reach the people who need them most,” Nartatez said.

The PNP said the arrest highlights strengthened coordination among police units under its Enhanced Managing Police Operations framework.

It added that operations against wanted persons and other threats to public safety will continue in line with the government’s campaign for safer and more secure communities.
