President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will push through with his official visit to Canada from July 1 to 4 despite protest actions in Manila and Quezon City supposedly led by members of the Iglesia ni Cristo on Tuesday.
“There will be no changes in the schedule of the President going to Canada tomorrow,” Acting Presidential Communications Office Secretary Dae Gomez said in an interview Tuesday afternoon.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro also said she has not received any advisory canceling or changing the President’s trip, which means the schedule remains in “status quo.”
The visit comes amid a “surprise rally” supposedly led by INC members in support of Sen. Rodante Marcoleta, who is expected to face a plunder case over an alleged undeclared campaign contribution.
