The City Government of Manila has expanded its measles vaccination campaign in Isla Puting Bato as part of the ongoing Ligtas Tigdas program, in coordination with the Department of Health (DOH).
Health workers conducted house-to-house visits in the community to boost immunization coverage among children and encourage parents to complete routine vaccinations.
City Health Officer Dr. Grace Padilla led the outreach effort, engaging residents directly to promote awareness on measles prevention and the importance of early immunization.
The activity was supported by the Department of Health, with participation from representatives of the World Health Organization, as part of broader efforts to strengthen disease prevention and outbreak control measures.
Officials said the campaign targets vulnerable communities with low vaccination coverage, aiming to reduce the risk of measles transmission in densely populated urban areas.
The initiative is part of the city government’s ongoing public health programs to improve immunization rates and reinforce basic preventive healthcare services across Manila.
