The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) signed a memorandum of agreement on Monday, June 15, to strengthen cooperation against online crimes, including child exploitation, human trafficking, and other cyber-related offenses.

The agreement was signed by CICC Executive Director Undersecretary Renato Paraiso and NBI Director Atty. Melvin Matibag during a formal ceremony attended by officials and legal witnesses from both agencies.

Under the agreement, the two agencies will share intelligence reports, exchange technical information, and coordinate resources in cybercrime investigations and enforcement operations.

Matibag said the partnership reinforces inter-agency coordination to build a safer digital environment and improve response systems against online threats, particularly those targeting children and other vulnerable sectors.

Officials said the agreement reflects a shared commitment to intensify efforts against internet-based criminal activity and strengthen national cybersecurity capacity.
