Two high-value individuals were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Cabantian, Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental, resulting in the seizure of suspected shabu worth ₱13.6 million.
Police said the operation conducted today resulted in the confiscation of approximately 2,000 grams of suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and other non-drug evidence.
The operation was carried out by joint elements of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group, Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10, and other police units, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Authorities said the confiscated drug evidence was turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit 10 for examination.
The PNP said the operation supports its Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, particularly in strengthening intelligence work and inter-agency coordination in the campaign against illegal drugs.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended the operating units for their swift and coordinated action, stressing the organization’s sustained commitment to stop illegal drug activities.
“Patuloy ang ating maigting na kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga. Ang ganitong mga operasyon ay patunay ng ating determinasyon na protektahan ang bawat komunidad,” he said.
Nartatez also said that under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the PNP continues to enhance its operational effectiveness to ensure safer and more secure communities nationwide.
The PNP said the accomplishment forms part of its continuing efforts to uphold public safety and sustain operational gains under the “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman,” reflected in every mission carried out on the ground.
