The Philippine National Police (PNP) has assured the public that security preparations are in place for the opening of classes on Monday, June 8, without affecting regular anti-crime and public safety operations.
In line with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to strengthen police visibility in communities, the PNP said more than 55,000 personnel have been mobilized nationwide under Oplan Balik-Eskwela for School Year 2026–2027.
The deployment includes 28,751 PNP personnel, 4,079 personnel from other units, and 22,677 force multipliers from partner agencies and community organizations.
PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the nationwide deployment was carefully planned to ensure that school security, traffic management, and regular law enforcement operations are carried out at the same time.
“The Philippine National Police is fully prepared and strategically positioned for the opening of classes on June 8, having mobilized a robust force of police personnel nationwide under our Oplan Balik-Eskwela framework,” Nartatez said.
“This comprehensive deployment includes organic police officers dedicated to high-visibility campus patrols, traffic management, and the manning of Police Assistance Desks, reinforced by auxiliary forces and community partners,” he added.
Nartatez said the security measures will cover not only school grounds but also surrounding areas where students, parents, teachers, and school personnel are expected to converge.
Across the country, the PNP has established 9,319 Police Assistance Desks in campuses and clustered schools. It will also deploy 9,525 mobile patrol units to strengthen police visibility, improve response time, and help manage traffic flow in school zones.
The PNP said the operation is designed to ensure a safe and orderly return to classrooms for millions of students while maintaining its anti-crime operations in communities nationwide.
