PNP Donates Generators to Help PGH Pediatric Patients on Breathing Support

THE Philippine National Police has donated 15 portable generators to help chronically ill children under the care of the Philippine General Hospital maintain access to life-sustaining breathing support equipment at home.

The donation was made on June 4, 2026, for pediatric patients under the Child Foundation and PGH’s Kalidad at Wagas na Aruga on the Go, or KWAGO, Program.

The generators are intended to serve as backup power sources for children who depend on ventilators and BiPAP machines, especially during power interruptions that could disrupt their breathing support.

The donation was coursed through the PNP Civil Security Group and formally received by representatives of PGH and the Child Foundation.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the initiative reflects the police force’s commitment to service beyond law enforcement, particularly for vulnerable families facing serious health challenges.

“Service goes beyond protection, and it must reach those who need it most. We stand with families who fight every day for their children’s life and well-being,” Nartatez said.

“Ang serbisyo ng kapulisan ay hindi lang sa seguridad, kundi sa malasakit sa kapwa lalo na sa mga batang may pinagdadaanan sa kalusugan,” he added.

Nartatez said the PNP will continue supporting programs that save lives and help ease the burden of families in need.

“We continue to support programs that save lives and ease the burden of families in need. Patuloy kaming tutulong sa abot ng aming makakaya para sa mga pamilyang umaasa sa tulong ng komunidad at ng pamahalaan,” he said.

The PNP said the initiative forms part of its broader effort to strengthen community support and make police service more responsive and people-centered.
