The Philippine National Police arrested a 29-year-old police personnel tagged as the No. 3 most wanted person in Western Visayas during an operation in Iloilo City on June 3.
The PNP said the operation was carried out by the Iloilo City Mobile Force Company, with support from other police units, based on warrants issued by a Regional Trial Court in Iloilo City.
The warrants stemmed from separate criminal cases for alleged violations of Republic Act 11930, or the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act.
Authorities said the police personnel voluntarily submitted to his unit commander before he was placed under police custody.
PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the arrest showed that the police organization enforces the law regardless of rank.
“Ang PNP po ay naninindigan sa patas at mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng batas. When warrants are issued, we act accordingly while ensuring that due process and rights are respected. Walang sinasanto sa batas,” Nartatez said.
He said the case also reflects the PNP’s continuing internal discipline and cleansing efforts to strengthen integrity and professionalism in the service.
The arrested personnel remains in custody pending further legal proceedings.
The PNP said the operation forms part of its campaign for accountable policing and strict enforcement of the law while upholding due process and human rights.
