More sari-sari stores are expected to gain access to digital payment tools under a new partnership aimed at helping small neighborhood businesses modernize their daily operations.
The initiative seeks to make cashless payments and basic business solutions more accessible to nano, micro, small, and medium enterprises, particularly small merchants that still rely heavily on cash transactions.
Through the partnership, sari-sari store owners will be given tools that allow them to accept digital payments, manage cash flow more efficiently, and better serve customers who increasingly use mobile wallets for everyday purchases.
Ren-Ren Reyes, president and chief executive of G-Xchange Inc., the operator of GCash, said the collaboration is intended to bring practical digital payment solutions closer to community-based businesses.
“Our partnership with Puregold Price Club reflects a shared vision of empowering communities on the ground by making digital payments and business solutions more inclusive, practical, and within reach,” Reyes said.
Puregold president Vincent Co said the program will help members of Tindahan ni Aling Puring strengthen their day-to-day operations and adapt to the growing digital economy.
The partnership will also cover Puregold’s retail operations, where digital payment solutions will be integrated into in-store transactions, disbursements, and other business processes.
The companies said the broader goal is to create a more connected system between suppliers, retailers, and sari-sari stores, allowing small merchants to operate more efficiently and participate more actively in the digital economy.
