PNP Revokes Dela Rosa Firearm Licenses

Police have served the revocation order covering the License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) and firearm registrations (FRs) of Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa at his residence in Davao City.

Personnel of the Regional Civil Security Unit (RCSU) 11 served the order on Wednesday. It was received by Dela Rosa’s lawyer, Atty. Vicente Adrian Pajaro.

According to the Davao region police, Pajaro said he would discuss the matter with his client and coordinate further with RCSU 11 regarding the revocation order.

The PNP Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) issued the revocation earlier Wednesday, citing the case Dela Rosa is facing before the International Criminal Court (ICC).

In its order, the FEO said the 117 firearms registered under Dela Rosa’s name must be immediately confiscated or deposited with a supply accountable officer of the FEO or RCSU 11.

The FEO also directed RCSU 11 to facilitate the immediate confiscation or deposit of the firearms.

Dela Rosa, a former PNP chief, has been identified as one of the alleged co-perpetrators of former President Rodrigo Duterte in the crimes against humanity case before the ICC.

He has been in hiding since May 14 after leaving the Senate premises in Pasay City while authorities were moving to arrest him based on a warrant.

Police said that after receiving an electronic copy of the order, RCSU 11 conducted coordination and an operational briefing to ensure proper procedures, security measures, and protocols were followed during implementation.

Davao region police director Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete said the service of the revocation order was carried out lawfully and professionally.

“The implementation and service of the order of revocation were conducted in accordance with the rule of law, established procedures, and with the highest degree of professionalism,” Rosete said.

“The Philippine National Police remains committed to the fair, impartial, and lawful execution of its mandates while ensuring respect for due process and the rights of all parties concerned,” he added.
